learning | upgrade your kids with BRAIN BYTES

This week we're featuring our new education collaborator JIMMY LEONG from Brain Bytes, an online learning company in Malaysia. Brain Bytes offers a range of educational products for students, and also provides lots of relevant content about studying, parenting and self improvement on their blog. They recently started featuring our tips on literacy and creativity (here's an example), and we're also looking at developing some cool learning products together next year. Here's Jimmy to explain more about what you can expect.

. Tell us, what sort of learning content does Brain Bytes offer?
Currently, our main catalogue consists of MySpellMe (a free spelling tool for young children); Maths Wiz and English Wiz (for ages 4 and above); a personality profiling tool called YABDI (for ages 15-25); and our Connecting The Dots Workshop which helps students aged 15-17 better understand how to match their personality to their college courses and future career paths. You can check out our full range of products here.

. How do your programmes help Malaysian kids?
Our online courses are delivered in such way that they do not judge the young users nor get angry at them for making mistakes. The kids are given encouragement when they answer correctly, and this helps to build their confidence.

. What tips do you have for parents who want to help develop their kids' English skills?
Do encourage your children to read, speak and practise more. Start slow and easy. It does not matter if they take a few weeks or months to improve. Be patient, encourage them and praise them constantly. Engage them and spend more time doing activities together where you communicate in English only.

. How would you describe Super Cool Books to parents?
Super Cool Books is exactly what its name says, it's super cool! Most of the stories are filled with positivity, adventure, mystery and teamwork. Most importantly, it's real easy and light to read. We highly recommend parents to try reading some of the books with their children.

Thanks, Jimmy! Check out the Brain Bytes website here.
