Hello world we are back again

Can't believe how long it's been since I was last here. It's already March. Wow. And this is in fact my first proper post this year. So let's do this the right way, shall we?

YEAAAAAAAAH!
SCREAM YOUR BRAINS OUT, PEOPLE!
FLING YOUR ARMS ABOUT AND JERK LIKE A ZOMBIE DOING THE GANGNAM STYLE!
COME OVER HERE AND GIVE ME A HIGH FIVE!
YEEEEEEAAAAAH!

Ok, thanks for humouring me. :)

Feels good to be settling back into the blogging routine, after a really busy stretch. Since October last year, I've had to concentrate on all the administrative duties that come with running a publishing studio. Even a small one like this. Emails, managing inventory, taking orders for the holiday season, shipping, invoices, receipts, contracts, budgets, training a new assistant, reading reports, upgrading equipment, kicking myself for some bad decisions, blah blah blah, and also figuring out what we should be doing better, so that we can make sure 2015 totally rocks.

Am glad that phase is so over. Now we can get back to the creative stuff. Over the next two weeks there will be announcements about new projects and updates. I'm trying to space things out and not overwhelm you all at once. Or drown myself in a flood of too-much-awesomeness-gasp-I-can't-breathe-somebody-PLEASE-help-me.

I'm always excited to hear from new people, so thank you for taking the time to drop us a note on Facebook or email. But also I'm constantly regretting that I'm unable to accept all the kind invitations to attend events and share Super Cool Books with more readers. Seriously, what could be better than hanging out with other book lovers and talking about the stories that get us all excited.

Hmmm, I realise that last sentence started out as a question but somehow turned into a declaration. So wrong, and yet so right. Which I think also sums up many of the new things happening in the publishing world today. Weird is the new normal. Wrong is the new right. Or not. We'll see.

BTW if you're on Wattpad, which is a great website for discovering new YA writers, do check out my friend Kimberley White's work (@ShirleyHaines00) and say hi.
