From real life experiences, observation of things happening around me, reading, movies
Pick one book of yours that kids should read
Forest on Fire is my latest book, which highlights the environmental issues facing us. It is about a fire breaking out in the MaxRitchie nature reserve. The main characters are a boisterous girl and a robot from the future. There are elements of time travel, adventure and excitement as the kids work with the robot and animals to save the forest. Suitable for 9-12 year olds.
Tip for parents, how to help kids enjoy reading
Choose fun books of suitable level instead of trying to push too many classics to them. They like to read the latest books rather than books from our times.
Tip for aspiring kidlit writers
Try writing a chapter a month. At the end of the year, you can get a 12-chapter book!
Your big wish for kidlit publishing next year (2020)?
Parents to invest in buying story books for their children instead of spending the money on tuition classes and assessment books.
