Describe your style
Simple, fun and hopefully happy.
How did you get started?
I first started writing when I spent Friday and Saturday nights babysitting my niece and nephews.
Where do you get story ideas?
My niece and nephews inspired my first stories. Now I can get an idea from anywhere be it a word, a picture, a piece or music, my dog or even the royal family.
Pick one book of yours that kids should read
The Royal Pup Pack: Party at the Palace. It's my latest book and it features the royals and dogs. I think it's a fun romp and it highlights a very important issue. You'll have to buy it to find out what that issue is.
Tip for parents, how to help kids enjoy reading
One has to be thrilled about reading each word, each page, and each chapter of a story. Each new book is an untold adventure, so it's up to you to make story-time the most exciting and unforgettable experience they'll ever have.
Tip for aspiring kidlit writers
Buckle up. You're about to embark on one incredibly unpredictable journey. Pack Dramamine.
Your big wish for kidlit publishing next year (2020)?
I would like to see more support for local writers and local festivals like AFCC.
